Postdoctoral Associate | Molecular Biology: The Hinson Lab at The Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine and UConn Health is seeking a highly motivated PhD-level scientist for a Postdoctoral Associate position. The research focuses on mouse models of cardiovascular disease, advanced cardiac physiology, and molecular biology techniques to investigate mechanisms of cardiomyopathy and heart failure.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- Education: PhD in Physiology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Prior research experience in mouse/rodent models of cardiovascular disease and cardiac physiology is strongly preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong expertise in mouse handling and procedures.
- In vivo/ex vivo cardiac functional assays and molecular biology methods.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with statistical and bioinformatics tools (e.g., R, Python) is advantageous.
Job Description:
- Perform mouse handling, survival procedures, and tissue collection.
- Conduct mouse echocardiography and other in vivo cardiac functional assessments.
- Apply ex vivo cardiac physiology techniques, including IonOptix systems for contractility and calcium handling studies.
- Contribute to AAV production and viral vector-based gene delivery.
- Perform molecular and cell biology assays (PCR, cloning, Western blotting, mammalian cell culture).
- Maintain rigorous documentation, analyze data, and contribute to manuscripts and grant applications.
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary research team spanning physiology, molecular biology, and computational biology.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with human iPSC-derived cardiomyocytes and engineered cardiac microtissues.
- Familiarity with iPSC differentiation, culture, functional assays, and genome editing.
