Postdoctoral Associate – Omics Program: The Duke University School of Medicine is seeking a dedicated Postdoctoral Associate to join Dr. Simon Gregory’s laboratory within the Brain Tumor Omics Program (BTOP) at the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center. The successful candidate will utilize advanced single-cell and spatial profiling techniques to investigate the mechanisms driving gliomas’ development and progression.

Job Description

The Postdoctoral Associate will engage in independent and collaborative research projects aimed at understanding high- and low-grade gliomas. Candidates should have a strong background in generating and analyzing single-cell and spatial profiling data, with experience contributing to significant pre-prints or published manuscripts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilizing cutting-edge single-cell and spatial profiling techniques.
  • Generating and analyzing single-cell data.
  • Developing and implementing novel assays and technologies.
  • Conducting hypothesis-driven research and collaborative projects.

Required Expertise and Technical Skills:

  • Strong background in single-cell data generation and spatial profiling.
  • Experience in developing novel assays and technologies.
  • Proficiency in tissue preparation techniques (cryotomy and staining).
  • Competence in molecular biology techniques (DNA/RNA extraction, single-cell data generation, spatial in situ sequencing).
  • Expertise in analyzing multimodal datasets related to glioma characterization.

Preferred Skills:

  • Research experience focused on both high- and low-grade gliomas.
  • Strong interest in advancing glioma research through innovative approaches and technologies.
