Summary

The Center for Drug Design (CDD) at the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy is inviting applications for a one-year renewable Postdoctoral Associate position. Eligibility / Qualification

  • Required: Ph.D. degree with a major in Biological Sciences (including medicinal/pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacology, neuroscience) or a related discipline.  
  • Preferred: At least 2 years of research experience in the field of neuroscience.  

Job Description & Duties

  • Research Responsibilities (70%):
    • Design and perform cell culture and cell-based assays.  
    • Conduct enzymatic reactions.  
    • Perform mouse experiments including drug administration, behavioral and biochemical assessments, and immunohistochemistry.  
    • Utilize various types of microscopy.  
    • Conduct computational and experimental screening of compound libraries.  
  • Writing Responsibilities (15%):
    • Submit periodic written reports detailing experimental procedures and results.  
    • Write scientific manuscripts for research publication.  
    • Participate in writing grant proposals.  
  • Other Responsibilities (15%):
    • Maintain laboratory safety practices and follow/update relevant protocols.  
    • Maintain an updated knowledge base of project-related literature.  
    • Assist in the organization and maintenance of laboratory equipment and facilities.
