Research Area:
- Energy-efficient and fault-tolerant AI systems for operation in radiation-rich environments, integrating circuit design, algorithms, and systems.

Eligibility / Qualification:
Required Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical and Computer Engineering or a closely related field, completed by the start date of the appointment.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Research experience in at least one of the following areas:
- Chip design, tape-out, and testing, with a focus on AI systems.
- Design, analysis, and modeling of AI hardware such as deep neural network accelerators or neuromorphic computing.
- Emerging AI/ML models and hardware/software co-design for AI applications.
- Radiation testing of electronic systems, emphasizing single event effects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in designing and modeling fault-tolerant circuits, architectures, and systems.
- Experience in radiation testing of electronic circuits.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will:
- Conduct independent research in electrical engineering with applications in robust and efficient AI systems.
- Design and develop circuits, methodologies, and research experiments aligned with project goals.
- Analyze and evaluate experimental and simulation data using advanced and specialized techniques.
- Prepare manuscripts and technical reports for publication; present findings at lab meetings and potentially at conferences and seminars.
- Manage lab operations, including mentoring or supervising undergraduate and/or graduate students and research staff.
- Assist in grant writing and research proposals; identify funding opportunities and participate in training activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
