Postdoctoral Associate | Synthetic Embryology: The Laboratory of Synthetic Embryology at The Rockefeller University is seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Associate to contribute to research initiatives focused on understanding the cellular and molecular basis of vertebrate embryonic induction, with a special emphasis on germ layer and organ formation. The primary focus will involve investigating developmental aspects of Huntington’s Disease using in vitro models. The laboratory performs comparative studies utilizing amphibian and mammalian model systems, including human embryonic stem cells.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Required:
    • PhD degree in a relevant field such as cell or molecular biology, biophysics, bioengineering
    • Experience in confocal imaging techniques and equipment
  • Preferred:
    • Experience with single-molecule detection instrumentation and high/super-resolution optical imaging
    • Thorough working knowledge of molecular, stem-cell biology, biochemistry, and/or genetics
    • Strong computational skills are a plus
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
    • Effective written and oral communication skills
    • Aptitude to be a lead author on peer-reviewed publications
