Eligibility / Qualification:
- Required:
- A PhD in Agricultural & Biological Sciences, Environmental Sciences/Engineering, Nutrient Management, Water Quality, or a related field.
- Commitment to the mission of the Land-Grant system and UF core values.
- Preferred:
- General understanding of Lake Okeechobee and Florida ecosystems, specifically wetlands.
- Experience with hydrologic modeling and geospatial assessment tools.
Job Description:
The Postdoctoral Associate will partake in a multi-year research project funded by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) and in collaboration with the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD). Responsibilities include:
- Leading field assessments of nutrient sorption technologies.
- Monitoring water quality and weather data.
- Facilitating lab analyses and data interpretation.
- Conducting geostatistical assessments based on water quality data.
- Assessing the cost-effectiveness of nutrient removal technologies.
- Mentoring undergraduate and graduate students.
- Driving to field locations and stakeholder meetings and conducting independent fieldwork under humid conditions.
