Eligibility/Qualification:
- Essential Criteria:
- PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (specialisation Fluid Mechanics), Civil Engineering (specialisation Fluid Mechanics), or related field.
- Proven expertise in CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) modelling.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with Ansys CFD, OpenFOAM, or similar CFD code.
- Ability to lead writing of journal articles and present research.
- Proven HPC (High-Performance Computing) skills.
- Desirable Criteria:
- Contributions to OpenFOAM, Ansys CFD.
- Advanced computer programming skills.
- Experience in machine learning methods.
Job Description:
The selected candidate will:
- Manage projects involving simulation methodology, running simulations, and data curation.
- Provide input for wind tunnel design/testing and CFD validation.
- Develop and expand the research project, presenting novel ideas.
- Collaborate in and/or lead preparation of scientific peer-reviewed articles.
- Represent the research group at meetings and conferences.
- Mentor junior group members (PhD students or undergraduate project research students).
- Optional: Develop research proposals including for an Independent Fellowship.
The role may also include teaching responsibilities in support of the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences to aid professional development towards an academic career.
