Eligibility/Qualifications

  • Required Qualifications:
  • PhD in Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field (awarded no more than four years prior to appointment effective date)
  • Minimum of one year eligibility remaining
  • Experience with time series data analysis
  • Solid background in coding
  • Ability to effectively collaborate in a diverse interdisciplinary team
  • Strong communication skills
  • Enthusiasm for leading human subjects experiments
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Research experience in mathematical applications to biological questions related to multi-agent or many-body systems
  • Publication track record in high-impact peer-reviewed journals or conferences
  • Previous experience leading graduate student research
  • Proficiency in programming languages (Matlab, R, Python, C++, or Julia)
  • Experience collecting data from human subjects

Job Description

The Postdoctoral Associate will engage in interdisciplinary research to explore stress contagion during human crowd interactions. Responsibilities will include designing and conducting experiments, analyzing motion capture, psychophysiological, and survey data, as well as modeling stress dynamics through agent-based and data-driven approaches. The position entails teaching responsibilities of two lower-division mathematics courses annually and contributing to grant reporting and academic publications.
