The YCNCC welcomes candidates with research interests spanning three primary areas of focus:

Eligibility / Qualification
- Education: A PhD or equivalent degree in a relevant discipline.
- Experience: Less than a total of 4 years of prior postdoctoral research experience.
- Faculty Support: Must identify and secure a letter of support from a host faculty member at Yale prior to applying.
Job Description
- Collaborative Research: Conduct independent and interdisciplinary research aligned with YCNCC’s mission to enhance natural carbon capture mechanisms and climate mitigation solutions.
- Faculty Host Collaboration: Work closely with a host faculty member at Yale (from the School of the Environment, School of Engineering and Applied Science, or any department within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences).
- Innovate & Expand: Bring fresh ideas, methodologies, and technical capabilities to Yale’s research enterprise.
- Program Timeline: Selected applicants will be notified by late February 2027 and must confirm acceptance by March 31, 2027. Program start dates fall between July 1 and December 31, 2027.

- Research Proposal: Maximum 2 pages (excluding figures and references) outlining how the proposed project advances the YCNCC mission.

- Publications: PDF copies of 1 to 2 publications (in-preparation or submitted manuscripts are permissible).
- Yale Faculty Support Letter: Maximum 1 page from a host Yale faculty member detailing:
- Research infrastructure available to the applicant (facilities, equipment, computing, field sites).
- Mentoring philosophy and commitment to an inclusive environment.
- How the project expands the research enterprise at Yale.
