Postdoctoral at Washington State University: A four-year postdoctoral position is available in the School of Biological Sciences at Washington State University-Pullman in the laboratory of Dr. Mechthild Tegeder (https://sbs.wsu.edu/mechthild-tegeder/#), in collaboration with Dr. Hanjo Hellmann (https://sbs.wsu.edu/hanjo-a-hellmann/#). The position starts on July 1st, 2023, or as soon as a qualified candidate has been identified.

Designation: Postdoctoral Researcher

Research Area: Plant physiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or related fields.

Location: Washington State University-Pullman, Pullman, WA

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Ph.D. degree in plant physiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or related fields.
  • Strong written and verbal (English) communication skills.

Job Description:

  • Conduct research on sulfur metabolism and transport processes in legumes.
  • Analyze and interpret data, co-write papers, and contribute to scientific publications.
  • Work independently and assist in managing the research team.
  • Train undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Opportunities for professional development, including participation in a postdoctoral mentoring program, gaining teaching experience, and collaborating with prominent researchers in the US and Europe.
