Eligibility/Qualification
- Strong command of programming languages common to bioinformatics (e.g., R).
- Understanding of core statistical methodologies (e.g., linear/logistic regression, multiple imputation, survival analysis).
- Experience with biobank-scale or large cohort datasets and omics datasets.
- Familiarity with high-performance computing, cluster, and Unix environments.
- Knowledge of cardiovascular or metabolic diseases is beneficial but not essential.
- Appropriate Australian working rights required.
Job Description
As a Bioinformatician, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Processing, cleaning, and managing large-scale datasets.
- Conducting statistical analysis for association and predictive modeling.
- Assisting in the development of multi-omics workflows and pipelines.
- Generating clear, high-quality figures, summaries, and reports for manuscripts and presentations.
- Contributing to manuscript and grant writing.
- Staying updated with relevant statistical and bioinformatics techniques.
- Collaborating with lab members on shared datasets and projects.
- Participating in team meetings and contributing to lab discussions.
