Eligibility/Qualification:
- A PhD in a relevant discipline.
- Experience in biological fieldwork, ideally within agricultural environments.
- Proven experience in safely handling animals.
- Strong skills in collecting, processing, and analyzing biological field data.
- Attention to detail in data recording, curation, and analysis.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage sensitive issues professionally.
- Willingness for early morning fieldwork.
- A full, clean driving license, with off-road driving experience preferred.
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Policy & Management Impact: Ensure that the research remains relevant to management and policy decisions.
- Fieldwork Contribution: Assist with badger vaccination and sampling, aligning activities with project goals.
- Population Monitoring Design: Lead the design and implementation of badger population monitoring using camera trapping.
- Data & Sample Management: Manage the long-term curation and storage of data and biological samples.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Lead data analysis and produce comprehensive reports to inform future strategies and decision-making.
