Job Description:
As a Postdoctoral Fellow, you will collaborate closely with Prof. Forrest Zhang and Prof. John Donaldson, Principal Investigators of a significant research grant. Your responsibilities will encompass conducting fieldwork in rural China, critically analyzing social science literature, performing both quantitative and qualitative data analysis, engaging with scholars, independently writing research papers, and presenting findings at conferences.

Qualifications:

  • PhD degree in Sociology, Political Science, Geography, or Development/Environmental Studies.
  • Proficiency in both Chinese and English, with the ability to read scientific literature, write research papers, and communicate verbally during fieldwork.
  • Prior experience conducting fieldwork in rural China.
  • Track record of successfully publishing research papers in peer-reviewed academic journals.
  • Extensive knowledge of social science literature on rural China, preferably demonstrated through academic publications or comprehensive exams during the PhD program.
