Job Description
The Postdoctoral Fellow will play a crucial role in exploring how cohesin and condensin, members of the SMC protein family, function as molecular machines that shape chromosomes. The role involves:
- Leading independent research projects.
- Collaborating with internal and external partners.
- Guiding and mentoring undergraduate and PhD students.
The candidate will employ various research techniques including molecular biology, genomics, biochemistry, and biophysics to achieve the laboratory’s research objectives.
Key Experience and Competencies
Essential:
- PhD in molecular cell biology, biochemistry, or biophysics (or nearing completion of PhD).
- Good knowledge and experience in chromosome biology.
- Technical expertise in protein purification and analysis.
- Track record of writing papers in peer-reviewed journals.
- Evidence of data presentation at scientific meetings.
Desirable:
- Experience with model biological systems.
- Expertise in quantitative biochemistry and biophysics.
- Proficiency with advanced microscopic techniques.
