Eligibility/Qualification
- PhD in Physics, Applied Physics, Physical Chemistry, or a similar field, awarded before October 1st, 2024.
- Strong background in pulsed laser spectroscopy.
- Experience with time-resolved pump-probe spectroscopy, preferably in the infrared spectrum.
- Knowhow of non-linear optics and pulsed lasers.
- Experience with multi-dimensional spectroscopy is a plus.
- Proficiency in programming (Python or similar).
- Excellent English communication skills (oral and written).
- Ability to work independently with a strong sense of responsibility.
Job Description
The successful candidate will:
- Develop ultrafast infrared optical spectroscopy tools to study electronic and vibrational dynamics in nanostructured materials.
- Enhance the current ultrafast spectroscopy lab by generating continuum infrared light through filamentation and implementing 1D and 2D infrared spectroscopy methods.
- Test and apply the advanced setup on new exploratory materials.
- Lead spectroscopic efforts and contribute to the Core Facility for advanced laser spectroscopy, NOLIMITS.
- Collaborate with a team of spectroscopists, chemists, and engineers.
- Mentor students and develop personal research ideas.
