Postdoctoral Fellow at Indiana University: The O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University (IU) – Bloomington is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow. The position contributes to a NASA Carbon Monitoring System grant-funded project, employing a unique data-driven strategy integrating machine learning, remote sensing, and eddy covariance flux measurements to model carbon dynamics in Eastern US forests. The fellow will link forest inventory data with remote sensing observations and develop machine learning models to predict forest carbon stocks and fluxes. Position Summary
The postdoctoral fellow will be supervised by Dr. Mallory Barnes and Dr. Kim Novick, providing opportunities for interdisciplinary engagement both within IU-Bloomington and externally. The role may be based in Bloomington, Indiana, with remote work considered. Funding is secured for up to three years.
Eligibility/Qualification
Ph.D. in environmental science, environmental informatics, ecology, atmospheric sciences, or related discipline. Mastery of machine learning and cutting-edge remote sensing techniques is essential.
