(Postdoctoral Fellow) at Michigan State University: The Department of Horticulture at Michigan State University is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Research Associate to work on a research project aimed at understanding blueberry resilience to abiotic stresses and establishing precision irrigation practices in blueberry production systems. The project is funded by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) and MSU Project GREEEN. The Research Associate will work under the supervision of Dr. Josh Vander Weide, the lead researcher at Michigan State University, and collaborate with other MSU-based researchers, including Dr. Younsuk Dong.
Eligibility/Qualification: The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Horticulture, Plant Science, or a related discipline. They should have strong research knowledge, skills, and attitudes, as well as an interest in the subject matter. Familiarity and success with the academic publication environment are also desirable.
Job Description: The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research on blueberry resilience to abiotic stresses and establishing precision irrigation practices in blueberry production systems. The Research Associate will also be expected to prepare and publish research articles and present findings at scientific conferences. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with other MSU-based researchers and provide mentorship to undergraduate and graduate students.
