Postdoctoral Fellow at Ohio University: A postdoctoral fellowship position is available in the Zhu lab at the Department of Biomedical Sciences, Ohio University. The fellow will investigate how chondrocyte cellular metabolism changes during aging and obesity that further affects maintenance and pathology in the articular cartilage.

Eligibility/Qualification:

Applicants should hold or be in the process of graduating with a PhD degree in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Regenerative Medicine, or a related field.

In addition, the applicant should be highly motivated and be able to work constructively with others with both honesty and enthusiasm.

The applicant should have a record of accomplishment that has either been published or is in press in international journals.

Prior work with genetically engineered mice, bioinformatics, and metabolism would be highly valued.

Job Description:

Duties include investigating how chondrocyte cellular metabolism changes during aging and obesity that further affects maintenance and pathology in the articular cartilage. The fellow will employ novel stains of transgenic mice with conditional modulation of Sirt5-MaK in articular cartilage and apply state-of-the-art techniques such as metabolomics, single cell RNA-Seq, and Seahorse Respirometry.
