Postdoctoral Fellow at Paul Scherrer Institute: The Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to work at the Laboratory for Catalysis and Sustainable Chemistry. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and catalytic applications of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) for CO2 capture and conversion to methanol, as well as synthesizing, characterizing, and stabilizing MOFs for CO2 capture.

Eligibility/Qualification: The applicant should have a PhD degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, with knowledge in synthesis, characterization, and/or catalytic application of heterogeneous catalysts. The candidate should also have knowledge of gas phase and liquid phase synthesis and catalysis, and knowledge in CO2 capture technologies is a plus.

Job Description: The selected candidate will be responsible for designing and catalytic applications of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) for CO2 capture and conversion to methanol. The successful candidate will also synthesize, characterize, and stabilize MOFs for CO2 capture. Additionally, the candidate will apply functional MOFs in the flow conversion of CO2 to methanol with a molecular catalyst and establish the relationship between adsorption and catalytic activity with MOFs for CO2 to methanol.
