Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Doctoral degree in computational mechanics, biomedical engineering, bioengineering, materials science, materials engineering, or a related scientific field.

Position Description: The Postdoctoral Fellow will work in the laboratory of Dr. Lei Fan and contribute to ongoing research on the cardiovascular system. Responsibilities include developing multiscale/multiphysics computational models, publishing peer-reviewed journal publications, mentoring students, and writing proposals.

Position Requirements:

  • Strong background in biomechanics, biomedical engineering, computational mechanics, or equivalent fields.

  • Familiarity with the open-source finite element library FeNiCS, cardiac mechanics, medical imaging processing, and machine learning techniques is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in performing bio-related experiments is a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Mentorship skills for junior scientists and students.
