Postdoctoral Fellow – Environmental Chemistry: The Center for Desertification Research (CIDE), CSIC-GVA-UV, at the Universitat de València (SAMA-UV) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position. The selected candidate will work on the project “ON THE INTERACTIVE AQUATIC BIOTA EXPOSOME TO CONTAMINANTS THROUGH A METABOLIMIC STUDY (ANTHROOCENE 2.0).” The research involves applying mass spectrometry techniques to detect contaminants and natural metabolites in aquatic biota.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in Pharmacy, Environmental Sciences, Food Science and Technology, Nutrition and Human Dietetics, Chemical Sciences, or equivalent.
- Experience in the determination and characterization of organic compounds through chromatography and/or mass spectrometry.
- Proficiency in English.
- Animal experimentation Category C/D certification.
- Ability to work in a team, initiative, responsibility, and a willingness to learn.
Job Description:
Postdoctoral Research Fellow – Environmental Chemistry and Metabolomics
The postdoctoral fellow will be involved in the analysis of organic and inorganic contaminants in fish using liquid chromatography and high-resolution mass spectrometry. Responsibilities include collaborating on the design and execution of experimental assays with fish, data analysis using statistical methods, preparation of project presentations and outreach materials, and submission of communications to conferences and scientific publications.
Conditions of Contract:
- Full-time position (37.5 hours/week)
- Duration: 6 months, extendable
- Estimated Start Date: January 7, 2024
