Postdoctoral Fellow – Human Genetics: Join the cutting-edge MooreForAll project at the renowned Institut Pasteur, focusing on leveraging genetic information to guide the selection of drug targets. As a Postdoctoral Fellow in Human Genetics, you will contribute to addressing challenges in the field, working on a three-year funded position.
Postdoctoral Fellow – Human Genetics, Unit of Statistical Genetics
Designation: Postdoctoral Fellow
Research Area: Human Genetics, Unit of Statistical Genetics
Location: Institut Pasteur, Paris
Eligibility/Qualification: The selected candidate should have a quantitative background with statistical and computational skills. They must be qualified with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, R) and hold a Ph.D. in Statistics/Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or other relevant disciplines. Practical experience with genetic datasets and statistical methods is desirable. The institution is committed to fostering a fair, inclusive, and diverse work environment, evaluating applicants solely based on qualifications.
Job Description: As a Postdoctoral Fellow, you will gather genetic data across common diseases, stratified by ancestries, age, and sex. This involves collecting clinical data on approved drug target genes and predicting drug target approval chances by combining genetic evidence on efficacy, safety, and stability across demographics. The project requires a good understanding of machine learning evaluation and interpretation techniques, providing an opportunity to develop expertise in genetics, gene regulation, and epigenetics. Collaboration with clinician researchers adds a multidisciplinary dimension to the role.
How to Apply: Interested candidates should submit their curriculum vitae, a cover letter detailing research experience, and contact information for two or more references to:
- Dr. Hanna Julienne: hanna.julienne@pasteur.fr
- Dr. Hugues Aschard: hugues.aschard@pasteur.fr
Last Date for Apply: Applications will be considered through the end of June 2024.
