Postdoctoral Fellow in Biogeochemical Modelling: Lund University is seeking applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Fellow position in the Department of Physical Geography and Ecosystem Science. The role focuses on biogeochemical modelling, emphasizing soil microbial ecology. The project aims to integrate recent ecological insights into modelling, with a focus on the impact of climate on soil organic carbon dynamics. The successful candidate will work in close collaboration with an empirical team and contribute to advancing the understanding of carbon dynamics in soil ecosystems.
Designation: Postdoctoral Fellow
Research Area: Biogeochemical Modelling with a Focus on Soil Microbial Ecology
Location: Lunds universitet, Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap, Lund, Sweden
Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in Soil or Environmental Science, Engineering, Ecology, Biogeochemistry, or similar.
- International degree equivalent to a PhD.
- Completed within the last three years (unless under special circumstances).
- Excellent programming skills (Matlab, Fortran, or C/C++).
- Strong mathematical skills, including a solid understanding of ODEs and numerical methods.
- Extensive experience in biogeochemical and mechanistic modelling.
- In-depth knowledge of microbial ecology, terrestrial ecosystems dynamics, and soil science.
- Experience in bridging the gap between models and empirical work.
- Very good oral and written proficiency in English.
