Eligibility/Qualification

RequirementDetails
EducationPhD degree in life sciences (preferably computational biology, genomics, statistics, or a similar field)
ExperienceSignificant experience in computational genomics, ideally in cancer genomics
SkillsStrong analytical and programming skills (preferably in Python and R), experience in Unix-based environments, and proven ability to collaborate and communicate effectively
DesirableExperience in long-read sequencing data analysis

Job Description

As a Postdoctoral Fellow, you will:

  • Lead the development of scalable computational solutions for high-throughput sequencing data analysis with a focus on methods applicable in limited-resource settings.
  • Analyze a unique collection of short and long-read whole-genome sequencing data from breast, pancreatic, and prostate tumors.
  • Integrate various data sets (social determinants of health, exposomics, germline genetics, tumor genomics, immune profiling) to decode the interactions contributing to cancer inequities in populations of African descent.
  • Engage with researchers in the UK, US, and Africa as part of the SAMBAI genomics analysis team.
