Eligibility/Qualification
- A degree equivalent to a Norwegian doctoral degree in chemistry, material science, or a closely related field (must be submitted for evaluation by the closing date).
- Documented experimental experience in:
- Heterogeneous catalyst synthesis
- Characterization
- Testing
- Fluent in oral and written English.
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in CO2/H2 conversion studies.
- Coordination of activities and student training.
- Knowledge of Scandinavian languages.
Job Description
The successful candidate will engage in the following activities:
- Conduct catalysis and process conditions studies under the interdisciplinary project “Renewable energy-driven recycling of CO2 and H2O to consumer products and e-fuels.”
- Explore catalyst combinations for single-reactor conversion of CO2/H2 via (m)ethanol to olefins.
- Addressing challenges related to high CO2 hydrogenation activity and hydrocarbons yield.
- Contribute to Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment (LCSA) and communicate findings.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Model studies of CO2 versus ethene hydrogenation activity.
- Develop new catalysts with improved performance metrics.
- Conduct kinetic and mechanistic investigations of catalyst materials.
- Organize project activities, such as seminars and outreach.
