Postdoctoral Fellow in Colorectal Cancer Research: IRB Barcelona is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join the renowned Colorectal Cancer Laboratory led by Dr. Eduard Batlle. Eligibility/Qualification:

Must Have – Required:

  • Experience:
  • Doctoral degree in Life Sciences (Biology, Biotechnology, Biomedicine, or a related field). Candidates nearing completion of their doctorate are also eligible, provided all requirements are fulfilled before the intended employment date.
  • Official Accreditation to perform Animal Experimentation.
  • Knowledge & Skills:
  • Strong background in Tumor Immunology.
  • Verified skills in cell culture and molecular biology.
  • Proficiency in antibody-based tissue analyses, including FACS analyses of tumor cell populations and imaging data analysis.
  • Proven experience in in vivo experiments.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Competences:
  • Self-motivated with good communication skills for both presentations and scientific writing.
  • High organizational capacity and effective teamwork abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience with organoid culturing.
  • At least one first-author research paper during PhD.
  • Proven experience in immunology.
  • Knowledge of big data analyses and coding in R and/or Python will be prioritized.

Job Description:

The selected postdoctoral researcher will work on a project aimed at uncovering how immune cells are reprogrammed in the metastatic tumor microenvironment over time. This research will utilize state-of-the-art technologies to track immune cell dynamics at a single-cell level and will involve collaboration with leading laboratories at the Weizmann Institute and CNAG. The role will foster an environment of excellent research training and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to colorectal cancer studies.
