Postdoctoral Fellow in Epigenetics, EMBL Rome, Italy

Postdoctoral Fellowship Position at EMBL, Hinxton, UK

Postdoctoral Fellow in Epigenetics: The Hackett group at EMBL Rome is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join their team. The group focuses on studying the epigenetic basis of genome regulation and aims to understand the impact of chromatin states in healthy and diseased tissues. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a cutting-edge research project using high-throughput CRISPR genetics, epigenetic editing, multi-omics, and organoids to uncover the regulatory logic of chromatin modifications.

Designation: Postdoctoral Fellow

Research Area: Epigenetics

Location: Rome, Italy

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in molecular or chromatin biology
  • Proficiency in (epi)genomics techniques and/or biochemistry methods
  • Experience with mammalian tissue culture or stem cells
  • Strong problem-solving skills and independence
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Job Description: The postdoctoral fellow will investigate the mechanistic function of chromatin modifications and their interaction with the genomic context and cellular identity to shape gene expression patterns. The research will involve utilizing high-throughput CRISPR screens, (epi)genomics data analysis, and bioinformatics techniques. The candidate will have the freedom to pursue curiosity-driven hypotheses based on novel screening datasets.

How to Apply: Interested candidates should submit their application online, including a CV with references and a cover letter that outlines their motivation, background, and future research interests.
