Postdoctoral Fellow in Genomics and Evolution: IRB Barcelona is seeking two experimental Postdoctoral Researchers in pathogenic yeast genomics and evolution to join the Comparative Genomics group, led by ICREA professor Toni Gabaldón. The selected candidates will work on understanding adaptation in emerging fungal pathogens through comparative genomics and phylogenomics. The positions are funded by the “LactAs” project.

Eligibility/Qualification
- Experience: Microbiology, preferentially with yeasts or other fungal organisms, and genomics.
- Knowledge: Microbial evolution, genome evolution.
- Skills: Microbial and molecular biology techniques.
- Desirable Experience: Previous experience with fungal or other pathogens, and hybrid organisms.
- Desirable Skills: Genetic manipulation.
Job Description
- Plan, perform, and interpret experiments within the project framework.
- Contribute to other lab projects and maintain protocols and laboratory resources.
- Critically analyze analytical results, participate in scientific discussions, and prepare scientific communications.
