Research Area:
The research will focus on the interactions between the gut microbiome and liver health, particularly in the context of inflammatory bowel disease and chronic liver conditions.

Research Institute of Internal Medicine, Institute of Clinical Medicine, Oslo, Norway.
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Applicants must hold a relevant PhD.
- Experience in designing, interpreting original in vitro and in vivo experiments.
- Formal training and significant experience with animal experiments.
- Laboratory animal training according to 2010/63/EU requirements is an advantage.
- Experience in molecular biology, preferably within microbiology or immunology.
- Proficient in English; knowledge of Norwegian or another Scandinavian language is required (or must commit to learn).
Job Description:
The successful candidate will:
- Engage in challenging projects under the ERC Consolidator Grant “FatVersusBile.”
- Utilize in vivo gnotobiotic models to explore microbial contributions to chronic liver diseases.
- Conduct both in vivo and in vitro experiments, including the use of organoid systems.
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary research group aimed at developing innovative treatment strategies.
- Organize and manage animal experiments and laboratory work with microbiology, flow cytometry, and cell cultures.
- Form a career development plan in collaboration with the institute.
