Eligibility/Qualification
- Minimum Qualifications:
- A doctoral degree from an accredited institution in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, physiology, or a related discipline.
- Training within a selected area of specialization.
- Strong/recent research lab experience in molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry, and animal physiology.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive experience working with rodents.
- Strong publication record.
- Background in cardiovascular biology and/or cell biology (highly preferred but not required).
Job Description
The successful candidate will:
- Join a collaborative NIH-funded research project led by Dr. Md. Shenuarin Bhuiyan.
- Investigate mitochondrial roles in heart failure using primary cultured cells, mouse models, mitochondrial functional assays, and metabolomics.
- Design and conduct independent research projects.
- Present research findings at national and international conferences.
- Write and publish manuscripts.
- Receive training for grant writing and applying for independent fellowships.
