Postdoctoral Fellow in NeuroConvergence Project: The University of Bergen’s Faculty of Medicine, Department of Biomedicine, is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join the NeuroConvergence project, which aims to identify novel druggable target proteins for neuropsychiatric disorders using large-scale genetic and functional genomic datasets and chemical libraries.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- Hold a Norwegian PhD or an equivalent degree within organic synthesis or medicinal chemistry, or have the doctoral thesis submitted prior to the application deadline
- High competence and broad experience in organic synthesis
- Experience within medicinal chemistry
- Experience in molecular modelling/docking is an advantage
- Excellent oral and written English skills
- Experience in multidisciplinary projects will be advantageous
Job Description:
The successful candidate will work in a collaborative team at the Department of Biomedicine and Department of Chemistry, University of Bergen. Key responsibilities include optimizing drug candidates through chemical synthesis, exploring their effects on isolated proteins, in cell culture, and in animal models (mouse/rat). The position offers ample opportunities for travel, training, and career development across multiple disciplines.
