Eligibility/Qualification
- Education: PhD degree in Organic Chemistry obtained no more than 5 years ago
- Skills:
- Good track record of previous scientific publications and achievements
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Passion for basic research and synthetic chemistry
- Experience: Previous experience with solid-phase peptide synthesis is an advantage but not a prerequisite
Job Description
The successful candidate will:
- Develop new chemical approaches for the total chemical synthesis of small proteins, focusing on the insulin-like family of hormones
- Synthesize analogs and mimetics of insulin and insulin-like growth factors to study their biological effects and develop new drugs
- Join a multidisciplinary team of medicinal chemists, virologists, immunologists, computational chemists, biologists, and biochemists
- Access state-of-the-art instrumentation and training opportunities for specialized courses
