Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Remote Sensing and Deep Learning Models: Early career researcher with experience in deep learning and remote sensing.
  • Science Communication / Misinformation: Experience in science communication or misinformation studies, or equivalent qualifications/experience.
  • Quantitative Methods in Biosecurity: Background in quantitative biosecurity, ecology, biometry, or statistics; must be an Australian citizen.
  • Molecular Diagnostics: Details will be provided upon advertisement.

Job Description:

  • Remote Sensing and Deep Learning Models: Develop deep learning models for detecting sugarcane weeds; collaborate with industry partners; co-supervise PhD students; design training materials.
  • Science Communication / Misinformation: Conduct independent research on misinformation in plant biosecurity; support PhD student supervision; deliver training and mentorship; or collaborate with training centre partners.
  • Quantitative Methods in Biosecurity: Research on quantitative methods in biosecurity; contribute to reports for the Commonwealth Department; support PhD supervision and mentorship.
