Postdoctoral Fellow in Plant-Microbe Interactions: The Mueller lab at the Salk Institute in La Jolla, CA, is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to investigate how plants regulate interactions with beneficial arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi. Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Ph.D. in plant science or related fields.
  • Strong background in molecular biology, plant physiology, and/or genetics.
  • Experience in plant-microbe interactions, bioinformatics, or legume genetics is desirable but not required.
  • Intellectual curiosity, productivity, drive, and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a diverse team environment.

Job Description:

  • Investigate the quantitative and qualitative control of AM symbiosis by host plants.
  • Utilize molecular biology, genetics, advanced microscopy, and -omics approaches to identify molecular mechanisms governing plant-microbe interactions.
  • Analyze root colonization by AM fungi and uncover novel mechanisms regulating symbiosis.
  • Work collaboratively with a diverse team to contribute to groundbreaking research in plant science.
