Postdoctoral Fellow in RNA-based Antibiotics: The Helmholtz Institute for RNA-based Infection Research (HIRI) is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join a cutting-edge project on programmable RNA antibiotics. This role will focus on investigating the molecular mechanisms of antisense peptide nucleic acids (PNA)-based antibiotics, aiming to understand their binding rules and impact on mRNA functions.

The research will be conducted within the field of RNA-based antibiotics, specifically focusing on antisense peptide nucleic acids (PNAs) and their interaction with nucleic acids.
Location:
The position is based at the Helmholtz Institute for RNA-based Infection Research (HIRI) in Würzburg, Germany. The successful candidate will also need to travel regularly between Würzburg, Germany, and Strasbourg, France.
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Successfully completed university or master’s degree in natural sciences.
- PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field of biosciences.
- Experience in analyzing RNA structures or working with microbial cultures is desirable.
- Interest in data science is advantageous.
- Very good communication skills with a strong command of English.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an international environment.
- Enthusiastic about a dynamic working environment with high scientific standards.
- Willingness to travel regularly between France and Germany.
- Strong publication record appropriate to career stage.
