Postdoctoral Fellow in Structural Immunology: The Department of Biological Sciences at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join a cutting-edge research lab specializing in innate immune signaling. Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Ph.D. in Structural Biology, Biochemistry, or Immunology
  • Strong background in protein expression and purification
  • Experience in structural techniques such as cryoEM and/or X-ray crystallography
  • Familiarity with innate immunity, inflammasomes, or host-pathogen interactions
  • Desirable: Experience with insect or mammalian cell expression systems
  • Strong record of peer-reviewed publications

Job Description:

  • Design and carry out experiments for expression, purification, and structural characterization of multi-protein complexes related to innate immune signaling.
  • Perform single-particle cryoEM studies utilizing advanced cryoEM infrastructure.
  • Analyze protein-protein and protein-ligand interactions through biochemical and biophysical assays (e.g., SEC, native gels, thermal shift assays).
  • Design and implement expression strategies for inflammasome-related proteins.
  • Conduct structural studies using cryoEM and/or crystallography.
  • Collaborate with national and international partners on immunology research projects.
  • Contribute to the mentoring of graduate students and junior researchers.
