Join the research team of Dr. Sinéad Griffin at Berkeley Lab/UC Berkeley to work on emergent phenomena in topological and other quantum materials, including oxides. This is a theoretical/computational postdoctoral position that requires expertise in Density Functional Theory and/or related methods.

Eligibility/Qualification: PhD in Physics or a related field, expertise in Density Functional Theory and/or related methods, excellent written and oral communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively.

Job Description: The successful candidate will work closely with Dr. Sinéad Griffin and other research groups at Berkeley Lab and UC Berkeley to develop theoretical models and validate them experimentally. The position offers an excellent opportunity to conduct cutting-edge research in a highly collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement theoretical models to study emergent phenomena in topological and other quantum materials, including oxides
  • Collaborate with other research groups to validate theoretical models experimentally
  • Present research findings at conferences and publish research papers in leading scientific journals
  • Contribute to the development of research proposals and funding applications
