Postdoctoral Fellow (Mathematical Modelling): An exciting opportunity is available for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join a collaborative project in mathematical modelling at the Melbourne Veterinary School. The role, located in Werribee and Parkville, is part-time (0.8 FTE) and offers a continuing position in the Faculty of Science. The project, in collaboration with the horse racing industry, aims to enhance safety and welfare outcomes through mathematical modelling of equine bone injury.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD (or near completion) in mathematical modelling, mathematical biology, applied mathematics, or related discipline.
- Strong quantitative skills with experience in mathematical modelling of biological processes using ODEs, simulations, and/or analysis in R/Matlab.
- Record of quality research demonstrated by publications in leading journals and conferences.
Job Description: The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will play a key role in a collaborative project between the Equine Orthopaedic Research Group and the School of Mathematics and Statistics. Responsibilities include independent research planning and execution, mathematical modelling, statistical analysis of equine bone injury data, and contributing to publications. The position also involves actively participating in research dissemination through seminars, conferences, and publications, and contributing to the overall development of the Department’s and the School’s research program.
