Postdoctoral Research Fellow – Neurodegenerative Diseases

Designation: Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Research Area: Neurodegenerative Diseases, specifically Alzheimer’s disease

Location: St Lucia, Brisbane QLD

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in molecular and cellular biology or a related biological discipline (or near completion)
  • Experience with cell lines, primary neuronal cultures, and animal experimentation
  • Evidence of publications in reputed refereed journals
  • Proficiency in molecular biology and biochemical techniques
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience with advanced imaging techniques is desirable

Job Description:
The successful candidate will collaborate with Dr. Pranesh Padmanabhan at the School of Biomedical Sciences and the Clem Jones Centre for Ageing Dementia Centre to investigate molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying Alzheimer’s disease. Responsibilities include conducting research, analyzing data, co-supervising students, and contributing to grant applications. The position offers access to state-of-the-art facilities for microscopy, animal experimentation, and computing.
