Postdoctoral Fellow on the ERC project: The University of Bergen invites applications for a postdoctoral research fellow position at the Department of Comparative Politics. The position is part of the ERC project “Contested Frontiers: Understanding the constitutional politics of settler-state peripheries” (ConFront). This 4-year position involves research, teaching, and administrative tasks, contributing to the project’s exploration of frontier jurisdictions, particularly in the North American Arctic, Fennoscandic north, U.S. Pacific, and Australian tropics. The successful candidate will actively collaborate with team members, conduct fieldwork, and contribute to the department’s Indigenous Peoples and Governance in the Arctic research group.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD or equivalent degree in Political Science, Comparative Politics, Political Philosophy, Constitutional Law, or a related discipline relevant to the project
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Proficiency in both written and oral English
- Research interest and commitment to Indigenous, Arctic, or related issues and challenges
- Personal and relational qualities, critical thinking, and ambition will be emphasized
Job Description:

- Collaborate with team members and contribute to the ConFront project
- Conduct fieldwork and research dissemination in frontier regions
- Participate in the department’s Indigenous Peoples and Governance in the Arctic research group
- Propose and execute a research plan contributing to ConFront’s objectives
- Teach and supervise at the bachelor and master levels
- Engage in other tasks at the Department
