Postdoctoral Fellow – Optical Computation: The Faculty of Engineering, Science, and Economy at the University of Exeter invites applications for the position of Postdoctoral Research Fellow. This Leverhulme funded post, available from January 2024 for 36 months, will involve working with Prof Jacopo Bertolotti and Prof Euan Hendry in the Physics Department. The successful applicant will play a key role in designing and building ultrafast optics experiments for various nonlinear optical systems aimed at advancing optical computation.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Relevant PhD in the physical sciences or similar field.
  • Experience in aligning ultrafast laser systems and conducting pump-probe type experiments.
  • Competence in programming lab experiments, preferably using Python or LabVIEW.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to contribute to the preparation of new research proposals.
