Postdoctoral Fellow- Probabilistic Learning: The Scientific Computing Center (SCC) at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) is seeking a dynamic and highly-qualified Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our newly established Research Group focusing on Methods for Big Data, starting in August 2024. This is an exciting opportunity to work in an international environment, contributing to cutting-edge research in probabilistic learning and big data methods.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • Education: Excellent university degree (Master) and completed PhD in statistics, mathematics, data science, computer science, or related fields.
  • Expertise: Specialization in at least one of the following areas:
  • Statistical Learning
  • Bayesian (Deep) Learning
  • Uncertainty Quantification and Probabilistic Machine Learning
  • High-Dimensional Statistics
  • Distributional Regression
  • Causal Inference
  • Continual Learning
  • Hybrid Algorithms
  • Skills:
  • Strong computational and mathematical skills
  • Proficiency in scientific programming languages (e.g., Python, R)
  • High proficiency in English (written and spoken)
  • Demonstrated creativity, commitment, analytical competence, and the ability to work in an interdisciplinary team.

Job Description

As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, you will:

  • Develop novel methods leveraging statistical learning and Bayesian (Deep) Learning.
  • Investigate theoretical properties of the developed algorithms.
  • Implement these methods and contribute to joint research projects within the group.
  • Publish your research findings in leading journals, workshops, and conferences.
