Postdoctoral Fellow/Research Associate: We invite applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow/Research Associate position dedicated to collaborative research projects addressing global societal challenges. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Prof. Burcu Balcik at Ozyegin University’s Sustainability Platform, a hub for transdisciplinary research and education. The initial appointment is for 12 months, with the possibility of an extension.

Eligibility/Qualification:
Candidates should meet the following criteria:
- A Ph.D. degree (or nearing completion) in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Operations Management, Decision Sciences, or Computer Science is preferred. However, candidates from other relevant academic backgrounds will also be assessed.
- Proficiency in optimization, data science, and strong computer programming skills are highly regarded. Exceptional candidates with complementary skills that align with specific project requirements and enrich the research landscape will also be considered.
- Candidates should have prior research experience in areas related to disaster management, humanitarian operations, food and water security (including agriculture and climate change impacts), environmental sustainability, and urban mobility. Specific research topics will be collaboratively determined with the candidate.
- Candidates should have a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to research excellence, exceptional organizational skills, and excellent written and oral communication skills.
Job Description: The primary role of the Postdoctoral Fellow/Research Associate will include:
- Leading research projects, developing research proposals, and publishing high-impact academic papers.
- Supporting activities involving engagement with external stakeholders (e.g., NGOs), potentially involving teamwork.
