Postdoctoral Fellow – School of Pharmacy: The School of Pharmacy at Otago University is seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Fellow for the Health Research Council funded project “Cancer targeted bioorthogonal prodrugs.” This exciting opportunity involves contributing expertise in synthetic chemistry and bioconjugation, focusing on state-of-the-art prodrug activation strategies for colorectal cancer treatment.

Eligibility/Qualification: The successful candidate must hold a PhD in organic or medicinal chemistry or a related discipline, demonstrating the ability to publish in high-impact journals. Experience in routine synthetic chemistry and analytical chemistry techniques is essential. Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently are required. Knowledge and experience in physical organic chemistry would be advantageous.

Job Description:

The Postdoctoral Fellow will conduct independent and collaborative research, focusing on synthesizing and purifying prodrugs, tumour-targeting ligands, and antibody bioconjugates. Responsibilities also include supervising and training students, writing manuscripts and reports, and contributing to laboratory activities and meetings.
