Eligibility/Qualification

  • Essential Requirements:
  • PhD degree (or equivalent) in synthetic chemistry, chemical biology, biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in organic chemistry and/or conjugation chemistry.
  • Desirable Requirements:
  • Experience with oligonucleotide and/or peptide chemistry.
  • Experience with biophysical, biochemical and/or cellular experiments.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary, research environment.

Job Description

The successful Postdoctoral Fellow will:

  • Conduct pioneering research on oligonucleotide therapeutics, investigating plasma half-life extension strategies and their effect on tissue-selective uptake.
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team, including experts in oligo conjugate chemistry, in vitro profiling, and oligonucleotide-focused drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics.
  • Design, generate, and profile innovative oligonucleotide conjugates aimed at enhancing therapeutic efficacy and tissue selectivity.
  • Lead and drive the project under the supervision of AstraZeneca team members and in collaboration with an academic mentor.
  • Plan, write, publish, and present high-quality scientific papers based on research findings.
