Postdoctoral Fellowship at Yale: Join the Malone Disturbance Ecology Lab at the Yale School of the Environment, where we are at the forefront of exploring and understanding the changing dynamics of natural ecosystems. We utilize data from the National Ecological Observatory Network (NEON) and the AmeriFlux Network to evaluate patterns in carbon dynamics across natural ecosystems.
Responsibilities: As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will design and execute workflows to spatialize CO2 and CH4 fluxes and concentrations for more than 100 sites from the NEON and AmeriFlux. You will play a pivotal role in designing and executing workflows to analyze spatial and temporal carbon patterns in ecosystems, landscapes, and global processes. Your work will involve conducting innovative research over a 2- to 3-year period, with annual evaluations for reappointment. You will have access to the core facilities at the Yale School of the Environment, reside locally, and maintain a regular workspace on campus. Your primary focus will be on groundbreaking research, complemented by valuable career mentorship.
Valued Skills: We are seeking a strong candidate with expertise in eddy covariance, atmospheric modeling of boundary layer dynamics, geospatial data processing and integration, and upscaling flux data. Skills to efficiently work with large datasets, the desire and ability to design data products and community resources, expertise in macrosystem ecology, machine learning, data assimilation, and synthesis science are highly valued.
Position Requirements:
- A Ph.D. in data science, statistics, or physical/biological sciences is preferred.
- At least 2 years of work experience.
- Postdoctoral Researchers should be within 5 years of receiving their Ph.D.
Location: Yale University, New Haven, CT.
