Eligibility/Qualification
Mandatory Requirements
- PhD in Biology, Biological Sciences, Biophysics, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or related fields.
- Knowledge of advanced light microscopy (confocal and/or super-resolution microscopy).
- Experience with cell culture.
- Advanced English proficiency.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience with synchrotron-based imaging.
- Experience in sample preparation for microscopy.
- Experience with experiments involving mitochondria and cellular metabolism.
Job Description
The selected researcher will be involved in a project that aims to investigate the three-dimensional architecture of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) using advanced correlative microscopy techniques, combining coherent X-ray diffraction imaging (CXDI) and STED super-resolution microscopy. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing new multimodal imaging strategies.
- Working with state-of-the-art microscopy platforms.
- Integrating structural and functional data.
- Contributing to an interdisciplinary and collaborative research environment.
