Job Description
Fellows will base their research out of a current faculty member’s lab in the Georgia Tech College of Sciences, or in a collaborator’s lab at Emory University. Core responsibilities include:
- Mentorship: Regularly co-mentor PhD students, including weekly one-on-one meetings to discuss and troubleshoot experiments, monitor progress, and provide guidance.
- Grant and Fellowship Proposals: Lead the preparation of grant proposals and fellowship applications to various funding agencies (e.g., NIH) by gathering data, reviewing literature, and drafting full proposals.
- Manuscript Preparation: Write and organize manuscripts for publication (summarizing results, structuring content, and overseeing the submission/revision process), and assist other research trainees with the publication process.
- Independent Research Development: Develop and initiate an independent research program that complements existing programs of the faculty mentor(s) while demonstrating a trajectory toward becoming an independent principal investigator.
