Job Description:
Postdoctoral Fellowship in Computational Evolutionary Morphometrics
The postdoctoral fellow’s responsibilities will include:
- Conducting independent research projects.
- Active participation in research environments, including CCEM workshops, conferences, and visits to UC Berkeley.
- Training and knowledge sharing with the CCEM team.
- Teaching and disseminating research findings.
- Writing and publishing papers based on the research project.
Key Criteria for Assessment of Applicants: Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Hold a PhD degree in biology or related fields (e.g., Computer Science or Bioinformatics).
- Proficiency in phylogenetics, stochastic processes, bioinformatics, evolutionary biology, and morphology.
- Knowledge of bird biology.
- Strong programming skills in Python, R, C/C++, or similar languages.
- Previous research experience in phylogenetics and/or morphology, with a record of publications.
- Involvement in professional activities, including outreach and work on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- A keen interest in applying advanced mathematics, statistics, and computer science techniques to biology.
- Excellent English language skills, both oral and written.
Place of Employment: The place of employment is at the Globe Institute, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen. The position offers a stimulating working environment within the Center for Computational Evolutionary Morphometrics (CCEM), located in central Copenhagen.
Terms of Employment: Salary, pension, and other employment conditions follow the relevant agreements and may include negotiations based on qualifications. An additional 17.1% contribution to the pension fund is provided by the employer. Foreign and Danish applicants may be eligible for tax reductions.
