Postdoctoral Fellowship in Hydrogen Production: The Escola Politécnica (Poli-USP) at the University of São Paulo is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join the FAPESP Research Centre for Greenhouse Gas Innovation (RCGI). The selected candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research in multiphase flow in membraneless electrolyzers, developing image-based measurement systems using machine learning and fluid mechanics techniques.

Eligibility/Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Engineering or a related field
• Strong experience in advanced image analysis applied to fluid mechanics and reactors
• A robust publication history in relevant fields
• Experience in multidisciplinary research environments
• Background in industrial property production (patents, software registrations) is highly desirable
• Proficiency in English is required

Job Description

The selected candidate will:

1. Develop and/or utilize image analysis techniques to investigate multiphase flows in hydrogen production reactors
2. Work with experimentally obtained flow data and synthetic image analysis
3. Apply experimental and numerical methods in fluid mechanics
4. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary research team to integrate findings across different study areas
5. Conduct optical experiments using techniques such as Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV)

Funding

• This Postdoctoral Fellowship is funded by FAPESP
